Melissa says: At the heart of my writing is a desire to help the broader community understand what it’s like when someone you love goes missing.
Since I published Write About Me, my life has been a rollercoaster with a fresh investigation into Ursula’s case where I have swung from hope to despair then back to hope again.
As I look back on all my books, I can see they are pavements for the path I am on.

Readers say: ‘I’m up in Darwin for a conference and I brought your 2nd novel FIND ME with me to read... Except that I finished it before I even got off the flight!! I couldn’t put it down! I love Rhiannon... Even had to hide the tears on the plane in some bits. I loved it, soooo good. Can’t wait to read the next one now (except I left it at home!)’ Natalie Godward

AFP Missing Persons

The Australian Federal Police National Missing Persons Coordination Centre endorse Melissa’s fiction writing work for its role in raising awareness for the missing.
“Melissa's books are the best form of getting in touch with people who are suffering ambiguous loss. I’m a trained counsellor and the best form of counselling for families of missing persons is via other families in a like situation. Our role with the AFP is to support families of missing people, and we met Melissa a couple of years ago when she released her first novel, Write About Me. The AFP is very happy to support Melissa and her books.”

AFP National Missing Persons Coordination Centre team leader Rebecca Kotz
